About me

My name is Killy Vincent I am a 19 year old girl originally born and raised from Port au Prince Haiti. I was adopted when I was by my new American Family; So I flew all the way from Haiti to the United States via Indiana. Although there have been lots of up and downs and sometimes even hard to see where the future is headed, I’ve always had one thing to keep me steady…..And that’s FASHION! Fashion has been a love of mine since I was a little girl, so I started sewing and exploring what I loved about it, but I didn’t truly know what I wanted out of it. But I started realizing that I loved sewing, going to fabric stores and could stay there for hours picking out fabric, I could also be in the studio or my room planning designing an outfit for hours. And really in the midst of it all not only did I realize it was my passion but I think it’s one of my soul purposes. This dream that I have I realize I want more than anything for it to turn into a reality. I go to the Art Institute in Indianapolis for Fashion Design and hoping to move out to New York City when I graduate and also hope to show my work at New York Fashion week and establish a brand under my name. The self-coincidence that fashion gave to me transformed my attitude and outlook towards life and I hope to design clothing that makes me happy and make others feel comfortable in their own skin. I created this blog as a way to start building connections in the fashion industry while also sharing my love of fashion and style with other people. The name of my blog “Haitian Fashionista” definitely speaks for itself, it’s about a Haitian girl figuring out her way in this world while still staying true to herself. I finding out not only is my nationality ( Haitian-French) , an important part of me but and a huge part of who I am; it truly defines who I am and without it I don’t think I would be the person I am today. You guys already know so much about me by know, so I hope you enjoy reading my blog as my style continues to evolve and change over time, and I continue to chase my dreams. I also hope this inspires you to live out your dreams and find your passion. I love getting mail, whether it is a simple hello or a question. You can always contact me at haitianfashionista@yahoo.com
